Fifth Annual Colloquium on FTSE 100® Cross-Company Mentoring Programmes, hosted by the Bank of England, 2013

For the fourth consecutive year, Sir David Lees, Chair of Court of the Bank of England hosted the fifth Colloquium on the FTSE 100® Cross-Company Mentoring Executive Programme at the Bank on Thursday 3rd October 2013. Over 140 guests attended, including more than 50 Chairs of FTSE companies and business leaders. We were delighted to welcome the new Governor of the Bank, Governor Mark Carney, who shared his thoughts and observations on the economic situation and on how diversity is a key component in bringing about sustainable recovery.
 
Other highlights included a lively panel discussion of Mentors and Mentees on the Executive Programme moderated with insight and humour by Niall FitzGerald KBE, Chair, Haklyut and Company Limited and The British Museum.
 
Dr Nigel Wilson, Group Chief Executive, Legal & General Group plc formally launched the full roll-out of the new Next Generation Women Leaders Programme, and a panel of Mentors and Mentees led a discussion on building and developing the pipeline of talented women executives.
 
Finally, Ian Coull, Chair, Galliford Try plc shared some fascinating insights on diversity in the FTSE 250 and Stepen Hadrill, Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Reporting Council, provided us with an update from the FRC on implementation of its new reporting requirements on gender balance and diversity.
